The Department of French Language Education provides training for French language teachers. It is a four-year undergraduate programme. In addition to subject courses such as grammar, linguistics, literature and translation, professional courses such as foreign language teaching methods are also offered to improve French as a foreign language. Pre-service teachers are given the opportunity to develop themselves in cultural and professional subjects through elective courses. In conclusion, the aim of the programme is to help prospective teachers to acquire a sufficient level of French and to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach French language, culture and literature as a foreign language.

Professional fields

Graduates of the Department of French Language Teaching can work as teachers of French in primary and secondary schools. They can also work in the private sector, in embassies, in tourism-related companies and in the field of translation and interpreting.

The French language teaching programme at the Department of Foreign Language Education of the Institute of Educational Sciences of our university offers postgraduate master's and doctoral studies with a thesis.
